AFTERCARE
For the best healed results possible, it is very important to follow the aftercare instructions until your tattoo is completely healed.
THINGS TO AVOID:
DAY 1-10
Do not pick or scratch the new tattoo at all costs. Picking at the area may cause scarring, loss of pigment, or infection.
Avoid anything that may cause the area to get “soggy”. (sweat, steamy showers, swimming, saunas)
Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning.
No facials, Botox, chemical treatments, chemical exfoliants, retinoids, retinol, or any other product that could speed up the skin’s cell turnover rate. Avoid these treatments until you are completely healed from the 2nd treatment.
Avoid side sleeping or sleeping face down. TIP: Sleep with an airplane neck pillow on to help keep the neck supported throughout the night. Try your best to sleep on your back.
No makeup or skincare on the area until fully healed. TIP: Makeup or skincare on the rest of the face is fine, just be careful when applying/removing. It is best to leave a 1 inch clearance around the area just in case.
Avoid eating spicy foods, greasy foods, or seafood for 3 days.
No kissing for 3 days.
No smoking for 3 days.
If you have pets at home, be sure to change all pillow cases every 2-3 nights during the healing process. If you don’t have animals, change all pillow cases once as soon as you get home.
AFTERCARE ROUTINE:

After eating always wash the lips using clean hands with provided Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser post meal. Gently press soap and water into the area and rinse with clean water.

ONCE YOU ARE HEALED:
DAY 10+ (YOU WILL KNOW YOU ARE COMPLETELY HEALED WHEN ALL SCABS HAVE FALLEN OFF)
Invest in a lip moisturizer that has spf in it to protect the lips from sun damage.
Use cleansers, light exfoliants, moisturizer, or any other mild skin products over the area.
Apply makeup to the area.
KEEP IN MIND:
Everyone’s tattoo will settle-in differently depending on lifestyle, skin type, skin tone, and aftercare. Results are NOT guaranteed due to these factors.
Signs of infection: Immense hot swelling, tenderness or pain, redness around the skin, greenish/brown discharge, skin may feel hot around the area. If there are any concerns or symptoms with regards to the procedure site or worry of an infection, immediately call a physician.
If physician care is required related to the Body Art procedure(s), the client is to notify the Body Art practitioner of the problem and the resolution by a physician or clinic. This information shall be placed in the client’s file.
NEW CLIENTS: After the first procedure, it is completely normal for the color to lighten, to see gaps, or to see the overall shape shrink slightly. In the complimentary touch up we can address any concerns and perfect them. The complimentary touch up is recommended to take place 8 weeks after the initial visit, but is valid for up to 3 months.
